A method, comprising:
selecting a first center point for a first portion of an image;
copying said first portion, centered about said first center point, to a buffer; and
inverting said copied first portion about a first edge of said portion.

Through the user interface the invention is defining a quarter size section of the image which it will use as the source of the effect. The invention does however state it does not need to only be a quarter section. The prior art shows how this can already be easily achieved using well known computer software (PhotoShop) by selecting an image section and the orientation for the mirror effect. Indeed the transformation is no more difficult that selecting Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical on the PhotoShop menu. The next and final stage of the transformation is a horizontal flip to complete the picture. Photoshop has sophisticated layering which equates to additional buffers where the image processing steps occur and so teach prior art for the additional buffering described in the invention.
