From a lay standpoint, I don't see the validity of trying to patent a process that is being done on the Internet as we speak. Offering a customer a variety of formats of some copyrighted material to choose from using the net as connector is really pushing the envelope when it comes to patents. This application also appears to duplicate what .zip does whereby files of virtually any format can be compressed and combined in one package able to be downloaded and unzipped by a user in many different ways. Combine this with a read me and a set of instructions on a website describing files and what should be done with them mirrors what Disney is trying to do without the need of a patent. Sounds like patent trolling to me.Susan Murray (almost 3 years ago)
What is needed by the patent office as they go to examine this application is documentary evidence that shows this has been done earlier than the filing date, 9/28/07. To make sure the documentary evidence makes it to the examiner, it needs to be submitted on the Prior Art page of this website. This Discussion Page's purpose is to allow reviewers to exchange thoughts and collaborate, but is not necessarily reviewed by the examiner. Can you find something in writing that has a date earlier than the fling date to support your argument and submit it?0 days left
