The method of Claim 10 wherein the queuing model comprises a M/G/c/K queuing model and wherein characterizing resource performance comprises:determining one or more parameters of an exponential arrival time distribution;identifying a general service time distribution and associated parameters for the service time distribution;identifying a number of resources;identifying a maximum number of print jobs in a queue based on one or more physical constraints;determining an approximation of the steady state solution for the queuing model based on the parameters for the exponential arrival time distribution, the parameters for the service time distribution, the number of resources, and the maximum number of print jobs; andutilizing the approximation to determine performance characteristics.
