The computer implemented method of Claim 2, wherein the at least one range of serial numbers is a plurality of ranges of serial numbers, and wherein the step of merging adjacent ranges of serial numbers comprises:scanning the plurality of ranges of serial numbers for an adjacent serial number;responsive to identifying an adjacent serial number, identifying a product status for products comprising the adjacent serial number; andresponsive to the product status for the products comprising the adjacent serial number being the same, combining ranges of serial numbers that comprise the adjacent serial number.
