A computer implemented method for grouping orders, the computer implemented method comprising:receiving one or more original orders;

grouping the one or more original orders using grouping rules to form a set of grouped orders;

upon a determination that at least one order in the set of grouped orders cannot be completely filled, creating at least one short order; and

grouping the at least one short order with the set of grouped orders using the grouping rules to form a set of consolidated orders.
