The method of Claim 19, further comprising the steps of:searching for a single memory block that is larger than the size of memory to satisfy the request;determining that the single memory block that is larger than the size of memory is unavailable; andsearching for a plurality of contiguous, differently-sized memory blocks that are each smaller than the size of memory and are collectively at least as large as the size of memory, wherein the plurality of contiguous, differently-sized memory blocks comprises the first memory block and the second memory block.
