transmitting at least one command comprising a MAC address to at least one network switching device, the at least one command operable to query an address forwarding table resident on the at least one network switching device; and

receiving a port address from the at least one network switching device, the port address identifying a port to which the at least one network switching device forwards traffic to the predetermined end-node.
