The patent reference US 20060294502 A1 relates to automatically annotating code and inferring annotated code based on a flexible specification language. The flexible specification language may be used to describe annotation inference for a variety of program properties. As described in an embodiment, function parameters may be annotated to accomplish various purposes, such as, indicating that the annotated function is an entry point or that the annotated function parameter is a format string. Further, the reference provides methods to infer annotations across different code bases and program states or properties of interest and to reduce the overhead of adding annotations to the code.
The above described features of the reference seem to be similar to the subject matter claimed in the application US 20070234286 A1. This reference cannot be posted as a prior art on this forum as its publication date is later than the filing date of US 20070234286 A1. Note that the filing date of the reference (June 22, 2005) is earlier than the filing date of US 20070234286 A1.
