A method for comparison of computer-based and data-processing models of a complex system, wherein a first model represents the system in a first condition and a second model represents the system in a second condition, wherein the first and the second model in each case model a system behaviour by way of predefined objects which represent activities and units within the system, and the first and the second model in each case comprise
at least one first and a second modelling level on which the system in each case with different degrees of abstraction is represented by definition of objects and of links between the objects, wherein the links re resent an exchange or a transfer of working means, wherein a working means represents a physical unit or an information unit,
and associations or relations between objects of the first and of the second modelling level, representing a support of the objects of the first modelling level by the objects of the second modelling level,
and the method comprises the following steps:
comparing both models and determining predefined objects of the first and the second model, which objects are associated with one another in each case,
determining differences in attributes of predefined objects associated with one another,
automatically determining change actions from the associations and differences determined between the two models, which change actions convey, the system from the first condition into the second condition,
using the change actions for planning, and/or controlling changes of the system, the system being a technical installation or a production process.
